The oceanography group at Rescan specializes in characterizing the physical, chemical and biological marine and coastal environment. Conceptual and numerical models are developed to provide insight into coastal processes, potential environmental impacts from project activities, and ultimately to implement design solutions for coastal developments.
Our services include:
Coastal zone management
Sediment geochemistry, sampling, and analysis
Seabed morphological studies
Water quality sampling and analysis
Pelagic and benthic biological sampling
Fisheries oceanography
Bathymetric surveys
Water column physical characterization
Water level measurement and analysis
Wind, wave and current measurement and analysis
Coastal and hydraulic design
Corrosion from seawater and material wear characteristics
Dispersion and circulation modeling
Coastal process studies
Coastal erosion monitoring and management
Sediment transport modeling
Coastal sediment budgeting
Shoreline management planning
Rescan’s capacity to quickly mobilize personnel and equipment to meet client needs, has allowed our team of professionals to become involved in wide-ranging marine projects throughout the world. We own, maintain, and operate much of the equipment required in oceanographic assignments. This includes wave and current meters (ADCP, RCMs, S4s), CTDs, flurometers, transmissometers, Teflon-coated GO-flo bottles, grab samplers, hydraulic winches, davits and related equipment for marine surveys.
