The Social and Economic Sciences team at Rescan has a broad range of expertise in the various disciplines of the socio-economic sciences field, including: social research and assessment, economic research and assessment, land and resource use research and assessment, traditional knowledge and Traditional use research and integration into a multi-disciplinary EIA.

Rescan’s SES Team encourages the active participation of local community experts in field studies, as well as in research and monitoring projects. Rescan strives to facilitate the integration of knowledge transfer in all its projects, recognizing that a transdisciplinary approach leads to the best outcomes. The SES team works extensively with all the research teams involved in an Environmental Assessment to ensure that information collected from indigenous people, local communities, land and resource users and government officials is shared – respecting any and all confidentiality concerns – with other disciplines, to ensure a fully informed EIA submission.
