Rescan Receives Young Employer Award
September 23, 2011

Rescan has been selected as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People. Now in its 10th year, the Canada's Top Employers for Young People competition is an editorial project organized by the Canada's Top 100 Employers project in partnership with KPMG LLP. This special designation recognizes employers that have exemplary programs to attract and retain younger workers. The editors review hundreds of leading employers across Canada to identify initiatives such as: co-op or work-study programs; tuition assistance to help students develop their skills; mentoring programs to help them adjust successfully to working life; career planning to help them move up in the organization; and other unique initiatives that help them develop rewarding and stimulating careers at each employer.

"Employers increasingly are investing in programs and policies to develop young talent, so they can keep their workforce numbers stable in future years," says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp Canada Inc., which manages the Canada's Top Employers for Young People competition.  "For many employers, this isn't about expanding their payrolls or boosting the size of their workforce - it's about making sure they have enough qualified people on staff in the years ahead when there won't be as many young people entering the workforce."

Rescan was selected for this award because of its unique development programs for employees, relaxed work environment, company sports team, social committee and employee rewards.
