Rescan Completes BHP Billiton Jansen Environmental Impact Statement
December 17, 2010

BHP Billiton Canada Inc. (BHP Billiton) submitted the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) today for its proposed Jansen Potash Project in Saskatchewan to the provincial Ministry of Environment (MOE).

Rescan led the EIS for BHP Billiton’s flagship potash project, which is expected to produce about 8 Mtpa of saleable potash at full capacity, potentially making it the world’s largest potash mine. The EIS will be released for public comment by the MOE once the document has been reviewed and deemed complete. This has been an exciting project for Rescan and has allowed us to expand our operations into Saskatchewan. On behalf of the Rescan potash team we congratulate BHP Billiton on this key regulatory milestone.
